Since prices are free in this sector, rates vary from one school to another. Most of them offer 'packages' for a set of services. To obtain accurate information, it is essential to inquire about what is included in this package (especially the number of hours of lessons and the number of attempts for theoretical and practical exams). It is also necessary to inquire about the unit prices of individual lessons and other additional services that you may need to take.
Each school affiliated with the C.E.R. network is legally independent. This means that each school defines its commercial and pricing policy. However, the network encourages its members to avoid charging transfer fees when it comes to students from another C.E.R.

The decree of March 5, 1991, concerning the operation of establishments providing motor vehicle driving and road safety education, requires all professionals providing remunerated instruction to 'carry out, prior to the training, an assessment of the student's level for motorcycle driving lessons, as well as vehicles with a GVWR not exceeding 3.5 tonnes.'
Furthermore, the training contract, as provided in Article R. 245-2 of the Road Code (Decree of December 26, 2000), must specify several provisions, including: 'The candidate's level assessment before entering training, including the estimated number of training hours...'
The tools used for these assessments can be computerized, with the choice left to the professionals. These computerized processes are subject to validation by the Ministry of Equipment and are therefore legally usable."
This is a provisional estimate, which does not commit either of the contracting parties. As the training progresses, depending on the results of the four intermediate assessments (known as stage assessments), one may observe either an undervaluation or, conversely, an overvaluation. A 'correction' is therefore perfectly conceivable. The only regulatory constraint is to undergo a minimum of twenty hours of driving lessons.
